Football Parents: March 11, 2013

For all new parents, we want to welcome you to Warrior Run Football!!  We also want to welcome back everyone who has been involved in Warrior Run Football.  The WR Football Booster Club meets year-round with a mission to provide support to the Warrior Run Defender football program, its athletes, and coaches. The football booster club serves to compliment the role of the Warrior Run School District, the Athletic Director, and the Warrior Run Athletic Association by addressing specific needs of the football program which can’t be met by these other groups.  WR Defender Football Booster Club members include all families with an athlete on Junior High and Varsity Football at Warrior Run.  Also, any interested member of our community is welcome!  Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13th  at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.

Specifically, the booster club provides funds for summer camps, summer conditioning programs, pre-game and scrimmage meals, year-end banquet, awards, senior jerseys, and much, much more.

Our fundraisers are our sole source of income.  For the 2013-14 football season, we will hold the following fundraisers:  Donkey Basketball Event (April 13TH), Concession Stand at Weightlifting event ( May 11th) Watson Inn Pancake Fundraiser (May 19TH), Daily # Raffle (June/July), and Sandwich Sale (August). All Varsity and Junior High families are asked to participate in each fundraiser.  The more families that participate, the lower the number of fundraisers we have to hold each year.

The booster club also raises funds by operating the “Shirt Shack” at home Varsity games, and a food concession stand at home JV/JH games.  We also conduct 50/50 and Game Ball raffles at each home Varsity game .

Parental involvement is necessary if we want to be successful.  We will need volunteers to work at each fundraiser and to work at home Varsity and JV football games.

If you have not updated your contact information or signed in, Please confirm your contact information as you leave this evening, so we can get in touch with you throughout the season.  You can also visit the team website at:  www.wrdefenderfootball.com for up-to-date information.

Anyone interested in helping in any way should contact one of the booster club officers below.  Thank you!

Notes from the March 13th Booster Club Meeting:

We are doing our Adopt a Highway road pickup on Saturday, April 6th at 9am.  We are responsible for Susquehanna Trail from RT54 to outside of McEwensville.  The more volunteers we have the faster it will be.

Donkey Basketball Game  Saturday, April 13Th at 7:00PM in the Middle School Gym.  At the parent meeting every family received 5 tickets to sell.  If you were not at the meeting please make arrangements to pick up your tickets.  All tickets if not sold must be returned or you will have to pay for them.  We are to return all tickets to the company that we do not sell.

We will need help that night.  Food Stand needs 4 people at arrive by 615pm.  We will need you there before the game, halftime and after to clean up.  We will need 1 person to do the apparel stand.  1-2 people to do the 50-50(We will get players to sell too) and 1 person to do the basket raffle.  Please let me know what you can do to help.  If there is anything you may want to donate for the stand let me know.  I'll let you know if there is anything we may need. All tickets need to be turned in by April 11th.

Weightlifting Concession Stand- Saturday, May 11th all day.  I will have the exact times as we get closer but we will need 7 volunteers at all times at the stand.  We have 2 cooks so you do not need to worry about that.  It is at the Social Hall in Allenwood.  I will send out a sign up list, but this is probably going to be from 7-6pm.  We will do it in shifts, but mark your calendars so you can volunteer for a couple of hours that day.
